Have you ever wanted to create a metal detector? Well today is your lucky day because I am going to show you how to create a very simple and easy metal detector.
Difficulty: Very Easy
Materials:
Transportable Radio (AM)(AM/FM) about $30 at Radio Shack
Desk Calculator about $3 at Walmart
Tape/Hot Glue Gun about $1 at Dollar Tree(Tape)
Instructions:
Step 1: Tune in your Radio to AM and set it to the highest station but make sure you hear static not a program. If there is a program go down one channel. If that one has a program go down another channel. If that one has a program....
Step 2: Turn on your Desk Calculator.
Step 3: Put the Radio and Calculator back to back of each other and tape them together/Hot Glue Gun the back of the Radio and/or Calculator and glue them together. Let the glue cool and dry for about 5 minutes.
Step 4: Turn up the volume to a comfortable tone. Get out a couple of coins and test out your new metal detector! It doesn't matter which side you face down. Once the metal detector finds the coins it will make a beeping sound.
Step 5: Enjoy your new metal detector and share it with your friends and family! If you think you missed a part or you're confused, read and try it again.
